ABOUT ME
Located in the North Park neighborhood of Chicago, Afterglow Face and Body is an intimate spa experience that offers results oriented skin care. Owner, Lauren provides all of the treatments and services.
With over 3 years of experience as an esthetician and 11 years as a biology educator, Lauren specializes in customized facials as well as body scrubs and wraps, brow shaping and tinting, and body waxing. With every service, Lauren’s goal is to provide a relaxing and results driven experience with you leaving her treatment room feeling amazing and understanding how you can gain and maintain beautiful, healthy skin.
At Afterglow Face and Body, we use Bioelements skin care products for all of our facials and body treatments. This product line is free of phthalates, mineral oil, petrolatum, parabens, fragrance and dyes. Bioelements skin care is very effective for all skin types and concerns and is available for you to take home at the end of your treatment.

Customized Facial
Enjoy a relaxing 75 minute personalized service with skin reading to determine your skin concerns and goals, followed by deep cleanse, relaxing massage, enzyme exfoliation, extractions, customized power treatment and mask targeted to your concerns.
VitaMineral Deep Detox Facial
Detox and nurture your skin with this 60 minute purifying facial. We will start with a personalized skin reading to assess your needs followed by a deep cleanse and energizing exfoliation. Vitamin C serum and a deep detoxing mask with activated coconut charcoal and vitamin C will remove skin-stressing toxins while providing nutrients to enhance your skin’s color, clarity, capillaries, collagen, and circulation.
Chinese Herbology -
Retexturizing Facial
Experience a dual action retexturizing facial that delivers both a physical and chemical exfoliation with Chinese Herbology. This treatment will begin with a deep cleanse and exfoliation using a blend of herbal granules to remove dull, dry skin. Then experience a calming acupressure massage followed by a herbology power treatment to allow the natural alpha hydroxy acids in the Chinese herbs to be infused. With this facial you will have smoother, brighter, and completely revitalized skin.
Pumice Peel:
Manual Microdermabrasion Facial

Smooth fine lines, resurface minor acne scarring, refine the look of large pores, retexturize, and reduce hyperpigmentation with this advanced facial treatment. We will begin with a deep cleanse and enzyme exfoliation. Ultra- fine pumice crystals derived from lava rock are then massaged into the skin creating micro cuts that increase circulation, cell turn over, and the penetration of beneficial ingredients. Two masks will then be applied to hydrate the skin and target trouble areas.
Diamond Microdermabrasion
In this facial, diamond studded tips along with suction are used to exfoliate the skin. This advanced procedure helps smooth fine lines, improves texture and evens out skin tone, cleaners out and refines the look of large pores. We will begin with a double cleanse and scrub followed by massage. This treatment will be completed with two passes of diamond tip microdermabrasion and a soothing and hydrating mask.
Dermaplaning Facial
If you are looking for a gentle but intense exfoliation that leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, this is the facial for you! We will begin with cleansing and analyzing the skin followed by dermaplaning where a surgical blade is used to gently remove dead skin cells as well as that annoying “peach fuzz” hair. A calming mask will then be applied followed by a customized serum and mask to give your skin added benefits!

Body Treatments
Back Facial
This treatment includes cleaning, exfoliating with steam, extractions, customized serum and mask, and high frequency treatment.
Herbology Body Wrap
Exfoliate, detox, and nourish your body with this energizing and revitalizing treatment. Warm citrus oil will be spread from your neck to toes followed by Chinese medicinal herbs which are used to exfoliate, energize the skin, and begin the detoxification process. You will then be wrapped in four layers to increase your body temperature and promote circulation and enhanced detoxification. Nourishing cream will be applied to complete this treatment leaving the body looking and feeling great.
Herbology Body Scrub
An express version of the Herbology Body Wrap. Warm citrus oil will be applied from neck to toes followed by a Chinese herb scrub to exfoliate and detox the body. Warm, nourishing cream completes this treatment enhancing the health and appearance of the body.
Aromatherapy Body Wrap
Indulge in a full body detoxifying aromatherapy wrap which begins with a full body dry brush exfoliation followed by the application of warm, aromatherapy oils. You will then be wrapped in four layers to increase circulation, promote detoxification, and calm muscle tension. During this time, relax and enjoy all of the amazing benefits of an acupressure massage for the chest and face.
